Weinheim, 12 November 2019. The IACDE’s Nordic Chapter was the host of a two-day event in Paris taking place on 8 and 9 November 2019. Freudenberg Performance Materials, a member of the IACDE, also sent some delegates who were able to communicate their expert knowledge and benefit from the know-how of the other attendants.
These two days were consistently characterised by haute couture, special manufacturing techniques and ground-breaking innovations. After a visit to the Yves Saint Laurent Museum, a workshop about leather garments in the Atelier Rubau was on the agenda. The workshop enabled participants to experience sewing techniques for fabrics combined with extraordinary leather processing methods at first hand.
On the second day, the participants were highly active again – in workshops held at the Institut Français de la Mode and dealing with creative draping, sleeves and shoulders. Using as little material as possible, participants made a jacket partly to a Japanese model or were shown how to achieve the target design of the shoulder part.
Once again, the IACDE showed its great value, its goal and purpose: Combining, maintaining and driving innovations and craftsmanship.
